I was just driving by our local Best Buy and I noticed a big banner proclaiming that they now have both Apple and Dell computers. I wasn’t planning on going in but I had to check this out. I found the little Apple store in a store section back with the computers. At the nice little table for computer display they had a MacBook an Air and a MBP. There were three teenage boys that looked like they’d never seen a computer before, just completely lusting after the MacBook Air. Then there was a teenage girl simply infatuated with a 20″ iMac and garage band. I think these are probably future customers but that’s fine.

I looked around a little bit and there was only a small amount of software available but they did have a nice little section of accessories. I actually picked up an additional power adapter for my MBP that I had been meaning to order. I wanted to encourage them to keep it up and get more Apple stuff on the shelves here. I did see three iMac boxes and three notebook boxes high up on the warehouse-like shelves ready to be sold.

It actually felt pretty good seeing how much the three boys liked the MacBook Air. They were really intense. It makes me feel good to be so heavily invested in a company that’s doing such a good job at making computers fun again without necessarily making them into just toys and game machines. It just feels right, doesn’t it?

By the way, I didn’t see the Dells anywhere although I must admit I didn’t search exhaustively.
