Dreaming of a future iPhone App

I know that BMW has incorporated a blue tooth pairing with iPhone in their newer cars.  Wave of the future and all that?
Full Vehicle iPhone Integration – Imagine how cool this would be.

For instance, no more losing your keys. The iPhone becomes the key and automatically unlocks your doors when you approach and locks when you move away.
Insert the iPhone in its dock and all your personalized settings adjust the doors, mirrors, AC, etc. It links to the onboard sound system and launches the hands free phone mode. Voice Apps would be a must.
iPhone Video is selectable on front and rear video systems with GPS only on front system when moving.  Detailed trip information that is archival including maps. Advanced settings could include things like GPS history tracking, showing speed at any point in time.
Complete history of engine diagnostics with flags to warn of problems. This could show a developing trend that might be missed otherwise. In the case of a catastrophic failure the iPhone could automatically call  911 with a with a message that included the current location, vehicle description, and identity of the operator.
I have some of these features on vehicles I have purchased recently but was charged through the nose for them.  The iPod integration on the BMW is very un-Apple in my opinion. It seems much easier to navigate on the iPod than on the BMW touch screen. I love their key but an iPhone could serve the same function and a whole lot more.
Where is that dreamer video?
Actually I wish all vehicles had an iPhone dock. Imagine how it would simplify reporting vehicle use on your rental cars when traveling, or fleet use of company vehicles.
