Singtel: 30,000 pre-orders for iPhone launch in Singapore
Met with some Singtel folks today, and the talk was how Singtel has received a tremendous response to the iPhone ahead of the launch in Singapore. They claim that they have already obtained 30,000 confirmed orders, even before the launch in October 2008. 30K order even before the launch, seems to be an overwhelming response, especially for a small market like Singapore. This seems contrary to some of the ANALyst views that because of the 60K unoffical jailbroken iPhones floating around Singapore that the initial demand for the iPhone 3G will be slow and that the launch will be a non-event.
I have also put in my pre-launch order for 2 iPhone 3G for me and the missus. So make that, 30,002 orders…

To correct your article, it’s not about pre-ordering/ confirmed orders, it’s just about getting more information about the iPhone.
When visiting http://home.singtel.com/iphone/ is missleads you to think it’s about reserving your own iPhone. On “term and conditions” step 2 it says:
Cited:
1) The reservation shall commence on 10th June 2008 and shall expire when the phone becomes available in Singapore.
3) This reservation is merely an indication of my interest to purchase the Phone (if and when available) and is not to be construed as an offer, advertisement, invitation to purchase, sale & purchase or as a binding agreement of whatever nature for the sale/purchase of the Phone.
Thanks, Peter - Good to have that additional information!
That’s what I’m there for.. checking out the sources so the articles is as correct as possible. Sure, it take some time but you wount be misslead.
