    Can’t agree with you less…

    Apple invented Hype 3G. Apple’s Hype 3G ain’t anyone else’s hype!

Apple isn’t about to kiss billions of dollars of ‘Hype 3G’ advertising dollars good bye.

Think about it. Over the past 8 years, what’s been the total value of all media attentions in reducing expenditures in paid advertising?

My wild ass guess: $20B… What’s yours?

Please Apple, stop having “events”

AAPL

I don’t like hype heading into Apple events. That always works out badly. So, no enthusiasm might be a good thing.

I don’t even like Apple events anymore though.

I think they serve zero purpose.

Who doesn’t know about Macs, iPods and iPhones? The expectations are so unreasonable that Steve can’t possibly make people happy anymore.  No matter what he introduces, the entire blog world will post “Ho hum.”   Or to post stuff like “Well, sure, the iHover Robot is cool, but it only has one USB port. That sucks!”

I think it makes them feel “cool” to be blase about AAPL stuff whether they are or not.

Apple just needs to focus on having people get their hands on new products to try them out - many (if not most) will buy.  Good word of mouth and keeping the quality high are much more important than media events.

No more MobileMe disasters.  No more trying to cram too many things into a single day.

End the hype.  Just quietly deliver.

Please.
